Birds
Obviously there are many different species of birds which we see many of outdoors everyday. The most common found in houses and other building structures are Sparrows, and Starlings. Sparrows are a small chunky brown bird that measures about 5 3/4" in length and are the most common bird in urban areas. They like to build their nests in louvre vents, attic vents, eaves, openings in soffit and fascia, and other man made construction openings. Sparrows, since they reside in such close association with humans are a factor in the spread of disease. They can carry such diseases as; salmonellosis and tuberculosis. Starlings are robin sized, black birds with light speckles on their feathers. Like the sparrows, starlings are extemely common in man made structures and their flammable nesting materials are potential fire hazards.
