When these birds roost or hang out for long periods of time a lot of deposits are being left behind. These deposits can be harmful to unsuspecting people because of the diseases they can carry, like hystoplasmosis, Cryptococcus, ensypholitus to just name a few. Birds eat 2-3 times their weight daily so with that much consumption there has got to be a lot of droppings to go with.

When nesting becomes the main stay for birds it is again the droppings and also parasites and debris. Birds cause million is damage yearly because of their debris for nesting can clog up roof drains and cause water damage, or clog dryer vents and cause dryer element to go bad or worse cause a fire. The parasites most common to birds is the “bird mite” sometimes confused with dust mite, altogether a different bug but same results, you become a host. The most common problem with birds is the accumulation of droppings underneath their roosting and nesting sites. The droppings can fall on sidewalks, parked cars, loading docks, architectural structures and even on people themselves. There are health issues associated with bird droppings and also corrosive damage to property. Droppings are also unsightly and give customers a perception that an establishment is "dirty" or "unsanitary". There are a number of measures that can be employed to control birds and usually an integrated management program is the most effective. The methods employed are best determined by the species to be controlled, the physical environment surrounding the area to be controlled, the physical structure and layout of the area to be controlled and the budget of the client. Almost all effective management programs involve harassing the birds and denying them return access to the area.
